How to install

Put up a shade sail in four steps

A quick overview with simple diagrams. Simple diagrams, step by step.

  1. Pick solid fixing points

    Masonry walls, structural beams, posts set in concrete or a large, healthy tree. Never gutters, fascia boards or thin cladding.

  2. Measure and choose your size

    The sail must be smaller than the space: leave 15–30 cm at each corner for the fittings. Our shade planner on each sail does the maths.

  3. Fix the corners

    Screw a pad eye into each fixing point, then link it to the sail's corner ring with a carabiner or a turnbuckle.

  4. Tension and slope

    Set corners at different heights so rain runs off, then tighten the turnbuckles until the fabric is taut. Take the sail down before storms.
