Which hardware do I need?
The kit depends on what you fix the corners to, not on the sail size.
Not sure of your size? Use the shade planner ↓A grey right-angle triangle shade sail (3 x 3 x 4.3 m) in knitted polyethylene shade cloth (280 g/m², manufacturer specification). The square corner sits neatly in the corner of a house or fence, with the two short sides along the walls. The open knit lets air move through, so the space underneath stays airy, and rain passes through the fabric instead of pooling on top. Each corner ends in a stainless steel triangle ring on a webbing strap, ready to clip onto your fittings.
What's in the box
- 1 × knitted right-angle triangle shade sail – Grey, 3 x 3 x 4.3 m
Fittings (pad eyes, snap hooks, turnbuckles) and ropes are not included: see our Shade Sail Fixing Kits (a 3-point kit fixes this sail). Posts are not included – you need 3 solid anchor points, such as a masonry wall, a structural beam or post, or a sturdy tree.

Knitted or Oxford fabric?
Knitted shade cloth breathes: hot air escapes through the fabric and rain falls through it. Choose it for shade on hot days. If you want rain to run off the sail, choose one of our water-resistant Oxford shade sails instead.
Installation
- Leave 15–30 cm between each corner and its anchor point for the fittings and tensioning.
- Tension the sail firmly so the fabric sits flat without wrinkles.
- Knitted shade cloth shrinks slightly over time, especially in heat: the manufacturer makes each sail about 5% longer to allow for this.
- Take the sail down in strong winds and storms, and over winter if it is not in use.
Our illustrated step-by-step guide is on our Installation Guides page.

Quick answers
Which size should I choose?
Use the shade planner above, or our size guide: it shows the space each size needs. Still unsure? Send us a photo for a free shade plan.
Is the fixing hardware included?
No: the sail comes on its own, without ropes. Pad eyes, snap hooks and turnbuckles come in our fixing kits, sold separately: one Wall Mount Kit or two 2-point kits for a rectangle or square, one 3-point kit for a triangle.
Does rain go through?
Yes. Knitted shade cloth is made for shade and airflow, so rain falls through it. If you'd like light rain to run off, choose one of our water-resistant Oxford sails: see the comparison above.
How long does delivery take?
Orders usually leave an Australian warehouse within 1 business day. Metro delivery takes about 6 business days in total; some products show a longer estimate on their page, and regional areas can take longer. Large items can come in several cartons.
How do I install it?
Our illustrated installation guides take you through every step, with simple diagrams.
Can you help me choose?
Yes. Send us a photo of your space and a few measurements: we'll reply with the product and size we'd choose, free of charge.
More questions? Read the FAQ or email us: we reply within 24 hours, 7 days a week.
